Sous Chef - Alex Verica

Alex Verica was born in Philadelphia and moved with his family to Charlotte in 1998.

Alex attended Ardrey Kell High School, graduating early, in January of 2014. In lieu of culinary school, he pursued his passion for cooking in the traditional manner: starting out at his father’s restaurant, Heritage Food & Drink, as a dishwasher. Alex worked his way up through the ranks, and in January of 2017, was named Sous Chef. After Heritage Food & Drink closed in October of 2017, Alex began working as Sous Chef under Chef David Quintana at Dot Dot Dot, a culinary driven speakeasy in the Park Road neighborhood of Charlotte.

Alex’s hobbies include playing cards, dining at local restaurants and watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Villanova Wildcats and the Charlotte Hornets.

Alex lives in south Charlotte.
